Yellow

Yesterday, I cleaned and organized the garage; donated a few things and took some others to our storage.  My plan is to sort through every box in our storage unit and decide what to keep and what to give away.  It is a somewhat melancholic task, because going through all of our belongings there takes me back to a past that has slip by like water through my fingers... it takes me to what we were once, and to what we took with us on this journey, thinking that perhaps our life was going to be a sure continuation of what it had been until then… and how tenderly, and hopeful I had fold and packaged everything then... with a heart full of anticipation, and hope and a tear or two quietly harbored in my heart too.  And now I’d have to give it up… give up my past for good, give a few, give it all… life has certainly its own unique way of surprising us and teaching us lessons… and for us it has been a path of new beginnings.  The old life we once knew is undoubtedly no more.

It was also a day of concern and doubt and fear, but also of trust and faith and another day alone, wishing that my husband would not have to travel that often.  But I’m learning.  Learning to conquer my fears by holding them right in the palm of my hands.  I should be fine; really.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your concerns and recommendations and good vibe.  And can I tell you a little secret?  And can I tell you how much you all helped me last night when I wasn’t able to sleep and you stayed with me and, by me, all through the long dark night?  Thank you and thank you.

As soon as my husband heard about my little incident yesterday he took immediate action.  Our little cottage is now fully protected from burglary, fire, carbon monoxide and more.  ADT came by today and installed the monitored systems.  I’m so hoping I’ll be able to sleep tonight.  I really need my rest and peace restored.  Is God something like ADT?  Making sure families are safe and sheltered at all times?  I wonder.

Today, I cut some wild flowers from our forest beyond our backyard and made a lovely bouquet for my kitchen.  I love the color yellow… yellow is the color of life; of sunshine and summer and everything warm.

OK my darlings... I'm getting ready for the night.
Enjoy something beautiful each day.
Create something beautiful each day.
Imagine something beautiful each day.

Love

Cielo

    1. Hi Betty. I love that painting too. I had it in my 'girly' room back at the house in the roses, then on the hall way that leads to the bedrooms in the rented home and now here... the perfect place of all places I think. It really looks pretty here and it matches so well with all the teal colors of her dress and my kitchen... I went to check for a name and saw the name "Bridges" on small letters on a corner. I bought this pictures at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago. They bring some really cute stuff from time to time.

  4. I'm glad to hear your husband had some security installed for you Cielo. I was concerned about the incident with your check because I have seen on TV where bad people can erase and change the amounts of checks. You know I wish people would use their talents more to make the world a better place instead of bad things. I love your posts...they always make me sit and think for a while and help to change how I look at my life the rest of the day. You are a lovely person with a big heart...take care friend.

  5. I am glad to read that you're well protected and know that you still have sticker bushes in front of many of your windows there.

What a shame that dishonest young men have taken advantage of your trust and good will. I hope they show up and do the work they were paid to do - along with an apology for the delay.

Sue mentioned that the amount on checks can be altered by the dishonest among us. Uni-ball has made a Signo ink pen that is said the foil those attempting to alter checks. We use that kind of pen for all checks that we write. That is another way to stay safer.

Be sure to keep the irreplaceable things in your storage unit. You can tuck them under beds and in the garage on sturdy shelves. You'll be glad you kept them!

    Hugs!

    1. Such a blessing this blog has been in my life. Not only do I come here to feed my soul, feed my dreams, but also to seek what I found in all of you, my dearest readers and friends—genuineness, friendship, compassion, good thoughtful opinions and advise; good heart-felt people with whom I wish I could share my life in real life.

Thank you for yours words… I shall listen. I shall. I have already given away too many of my insignificant, but dear treasures… and later… regret. Thank you for reminding to keep them. I know I’d be glad later. I remember back at the house in the roses when we were packing how I put aside some of my favorite garden statues to later give away because we didn’t have any more space to carry all those things… but my husband saved them for me secretly and put them in our truck without telling me. How happy I was when we got here and later told me he had a little surprise for me… Ah, seeing those garden friends after I thought I was never going to see them again was magical!

  6. I truly wish we were closer! I find myself spending a lot of time alone - now that the children are grown. Dearest has such long hours and potentially will be working extra to advance. I do know one thing - with God we are NEVER alone. I can sense his presence. Your husband is a dear for acting swiftly - let him know how much we appreciate his attentiveness to our dear friend :)
    Hugs,
    Kathy
