The bathroom

I am thankful that our little cottage has exactly everything we need. No more. No less. Just precisely what we need to our heart’s contentment—like the extra large marvelous bathtub situated right under a sun-drenched window that I so love.

I don’t know what would I have done if our little cottage didn’t had a bathtub (as so many of the houses we saw before buying this one didn’t) because I am addicted to my super hot bubble baths for as long as I can remember…

Do you prefer showers or baths? Showers are quick and refreshing, but baths are luxurious and relaxing, and I love them; particularly before going to bed.

Our bathtub is actually a whirlpool tub, but the first time I turned on the jets I almost drown—Titanic like water shooting everywhere super hard.  So I hadn’t turn them on again and are just using the tub as a normal regular bathtub… filled with super hot water and heaps of bubbles…

There’s no linen closet or drawers where to put your personal belongings like we used to have in our rented home with all the wonderful extra spaces it had… but the little 3-drawer chest that was part of our guest room in a previous life has come very handy for purposes as such. And I am thankful, and contented with what we have.

I’m still enjoying some of the last roses I brought from the rented home a few days ago. I wish I knew the name of these particularly beautiful apricot rose that grows full and low to the grown. When new, these roses have a lovely pink color, but then as they age they turn apricot in color and lovelier in its scents—provoking, and enigmatic… Wouldn’t it be beautiful if we humans could grow old just like that rose? The body may decay, but may we grow lovelier and more fragrant in the spirit each day.

Thank you for being here my friend!

Be the light you seek

  1. I would love to take a bath, but unfortunately as you get olden its not possible to get in and out of a tub. I would have to get the Fire department to help me out and that would not be a pretty site. Sooooooooo it's the shower - I would love to have one of the new ones they are showing that you step into, shut the door and there is a seat so you can have a bath or shower. But, they are so expensive - so I just dream of one.
Lovely bathroom with the great window.

  2. I am so happy that you are happy and content in your new home. Try filling it to the level to cover the jets BEFORE you get in and add your bubble bath and turn the jets on before you get in. It will fill the tub to overflowing with bubbles...and then you can continue to fill it with water after you are in. Loving to see you again! xo Diana

  3. OMG !!! what a lovely picture perfect bathtub, right by a window with lace on it and roses on the tub!!?? And I personally love being able to bring in cabinets an chests for the bathroom, so much more personal....but I adore what you said : ''Wouldn’t it be beautiful if we humans could grow old just like that rose? The body may decay, but may we grow lovelier and more fragrant in the spirit each day''. ....and this gives me more determination to age that way, becoming more and more fragrant.....I literally try to do this and I love that you said it.

  5. Your tub by the window is perfect! Love it... Give that water jet another try! I always wanted one, but have never had one...I laughed thinking about your water waves!!! I take showers. No tub at Mom's. I could use hers, but it is way in the oppositite end of the house... And so funny, even though she is on rural water now, she keeps tabs on usage like she had to when we had a cistern well! So, hot showers with fluffy mounds of soap on tulle netting puffs, it is! I have a chair in there and just let the steaming hot "rain" beat on my face and shoulders...

  7. Lovely roses everywhere! I can just imagine the sweet fragrance. Your post reminded me of an old arabic proverb that is meant as a compliment. It says: Even if the flower has faded, it still retains it's beautiful fragrance.

  8. Beautiful roses! I love your tub!, We have both a shower and a tub, but to be honest, I haven't taken time for the tub lately. I just love the hot water from the shower. I have several rose bushes in bloom right now. You have inspired me to fill my bathroom with roses!

  9. We had a jetted tub in our old house - I think our children enjoyed it as much as I. I have a garden tub now, but I'm working on fixing a clawfoot tub to put in its place. I think I'll feel transported to another time then.

  11. From the way you described your bathroom, I’m sure it looks amazing. Especially the tub, where you can go for a long soak after a tiring and stressful day. It’s a good thing that your cottage has one when you bought it. Cheers!
