Decorating with color for the winter

What is your style when it comes to decorating your home? It seems that, in winter, I am an absolute bohemian.   I crave light, and because I'm not getting any inspiration from the garden either as far as color goes, I also yearn for colors in a huge amounts...

Back to the Wall
Back to the Wall
Right now, I'm liking walls painted in teal colors and navy blues...

I'm also loving white slip-covered sofas with lots of colorful pillows embellishing it.
Although my decorating taste is always evolving,
I think I will always love white slip-covered sofas

I'm craving color, but in my house I'm still sticking to the black-white patterned loveliness I adore...

Might have to bring in some colorful pillows for the winter though...

And my spray-painted Mason jars
to hold a posy or two from the market

It's been super cold and gloomy around here for days,
and I can't hardly wait for the return of light and sunshine to my little patch of earth...
in the mean time I continue dreaming and making great plans for the spring garden...

What are you up to these days?
Cold where you are?
I hope you're keeping warm and happy
wherever you are my friend...

  2. Dear Janice, now I'll have to google those 'Angel Earrings" fuschia. The name alone sounds marvelous. And primroses peeping out the ground already... how marvelous that sounds! Thank you for bringing some of your sunshine my way...

  3. Hello Cielo,
Rainy weather here in Belgium, it's getting colder, but it's not so bad.
Usually I continue decorating with roses and flowers from my garden, as this week with Skimmia and the beautiful Helleborus. But very often, when I visit your blog, it is as if I read about myself. As if the same creative wind blows about us ... it makes me smile.
I wish you a wonderful week.
    Rita :)

    1. Sisters at heart...

“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.”

  4. Very beautiful. Your living room in lovely. I love lots of white, but I also crave color and softer pastels. I love those inspiration photos. I tend to do color with flowers in one spot. xoxo Su

  5. Love white, my sofa is an oatmill white and I love natural woods peaking through washes of white... I am so into the black and white and plan to add some black here and there.
    Love your style.

Thank you for your lovely visit,
    Will return for more inspiration.

  7. I love white in a home, but I have to have color! So I do love pops of color amongst the white. It's very cold right now where I live (northern IL)...below zero with the wind chill. I stayed in today and cleaned, puttered, organized, made a pot of soup, did yoga, read...delightful day inside. :-)
