Summer

It is summer alright around here...  the sky is so blue and the heat so intense, that one may think she's some type of an underwater creature... a mermaid maybe, who moves and lives under the deep sea.  I've been practicing my luring song...  want to hear? ;)

Birds and little creatures of the woods have become lethargic and very quiet and when it rains, if it ever rains at all, heat would come up from the ground in little clouds of vapor like murmuring ghosts dancing on the hill up the road... heat is so intense you even forget your name... and you may think you are a nomad, lost in a dessert somewhere...  water, water, water for my soul, please!  I can't find my inner peace on days like these... still, all the magic I know around here I have to make myself!  Like what you see here...

The gladiolus my dad and I planted last year are in bloom

The “Iceberg” floribunda roses in the front garden...

The "Endless Summer" hydrangeas

  1. Beautiful plants. I bet your dad is proud of them too. Does he have gardens planted at his home? We must settle in with the heat. Else we will never survive the summer. Don't over do it. Stay calm and keep fanning! Lol

  2. Oh my, but I dread the coming of heat/humidity.... But so far, we have been lucky. With cool evenings, nights, and mornings. So lucky..... :-)

What joy it is, to sleep with windows open. And hear the early singing bird in the tree tops, outside my side of the bed. :-)
